tableware. notable artists included dod and ernest procter, dame laura knight, frank brangwyn, gordon forsyth, ben nicholson, vanessa bell, duncan grant, paul nash and graham sutherland. the initial harrods exhibition was a great success, and it was decided to tour the exhibition countrywide where customers could place their orders at participating shops. ultimately the tour was not a success, with stores being left with up to 80% of their stock. complicated designs by artists unfamiliar with the ceramics process were partly to blame, along with many designs being in advance of public taste
