doulton of lambeth " harvest " jugs were made in the late 19th and early 20th century and imitated the style of traditional english brown stoneware pitchers of the 17th & 18th century . the stoneware salt glaze jug is decorated with applied sprigs, low relief incised moulded clay embelishments, in this case rural scenes inspired by 17th century designs, consisting of a windmill, an oak tree, six bounding hounds and one other scene.
