the lady is possibly spanish, the rose in her hair indicative of the flamenco culture, the flower is red to represent passion, and of course love, which is associated with the famous style of spanish dance.
John Wright a.r.e., a.r.c.a ( 1927 - 2001 ) was born, and initially studied art in doncaster. after his national service he was accepted into the royal college of art where he studied at the school of engraving. he went on to teach art at doncaster, birmingham and finally Leicester where he spent 30 years as senior lecturer of fine art.
John wright best known as a print maker and a fellow of the Royal Society of painter print makers, was also an accomplished painter and member of the Leicester society of artists.
