herman gottard sandberg ( 1890 - 1961 ) was a swedish artist and art teacher. he was born in stora bjallerup, skane county, sweden to olof sandberg a farrier and maria jonsson. he studied art at tekniska skolan from 1907 -1910 under freddrik krebs. in 1921 he continued his studies in paris and then berlin 1930. sandbergs debut exhibition was at lund university art museum in 1917. he exhibited extensively in skane until 1960. from 1917 he also taught art, notable students were ake goransson, sven ljungberg and alf olsson. in 1922 he married ida wilhemina elisabeth carlsten their son bengt olof sandberg 1930-1997 was also an artist.
