the book is illustrated with numerous colour plates and black and white illustrations.
the book is leather bound has five raised bands across spine with gilt titles and decoration, some scuffing , the book has a gilt embossed crest for Portsmouth grammar school and has marbled edges and marbled end papers. there is a period prize table affixed to the front inner board. the front board is detached which is a shame as the rest of the book is in excellent condition.
