bolingey is a small village on the north coast of cornwall located between perranporth and penwortha combe.
bolingey pottery was started by norman taylor with the help of his family when he moved from coventry to perranporth in the early 1960's. mike edwards who had previously worked at lakes cornish pottery truro, started to help norman in the evenings. in 1965 mike was taken on full time. mike encouraged the bolingey pottery to adapt many of the lakes designs. the pottery became successful in the 60's and 70's and closed in 1990.
