in 1968 bill was ordained as a monk. bill started work in the monastery's pottery. having no experience of throwing pots, he taught himself, making his own glazes and kiln. in 1989, having left the monastery, bill moved to devon. here he ran a workshop teaching people with disabilities how to make pottery. bill had his own small workshop where he produced a few pots in his free time, it was not until he retired that he was able to concentrate fully on his own work.
