" jastarnia " is a popular polish seaside resort and small fishing port on the hel peninsula on the Baltic Sea.
wlodzimierz tunin 1915-1977. was a polish artist and professor of art.he was born in ostrogu near horyniem in 1915. after graduating from krzemienieckiego secondary school in 1937 he studied art at the warsaw academy of fine arts under the tutelage of artist tadeusza pruszkowskiego. he served as an officer in the polish army during the invasion of Poland in 1939 and was taken prisoner of war until 1945. he then returned to his studies at the Warsaw academy of fine art under the prominent polish painter jana cybisa and the sculptor wojciecha jastrzebowskiego. staying at the academy he became an assistant later becoming a senior lecturer in "the production of interior architecture." from 1949 he was senior lecturer at the academy of plastic arts and deputy head. his work consisted of sculpture, oil and watercolour painting, drawing and graphic artwork.
Włodzimierz tiunin's work is held in many public and private collections.
