jack millar. a painter and teacher of art. born in london, he first studied at clapham school of art in 1939, then onto st. martins in 1941. demobbed after ww2 he studied art under the guidance of ruskin spear, rodrigo moynihan, carel weight and john minton at the royal college, graduating in 1950 with a first class degree and the andrew lloyd scholarship for landscape painting. jack millar exhibited countrywide and was a regular exhibitor at the royal academy.
his paintings are held in public and private collections nationwide.
jack millar was head of art at both walthamstow and kingston school of art, he was also a visiting lecturer at the ra from 1966 to 1973.
jack millar won numerous prizes for his work , including the bra first prize in 1986 and the de laszlo medal in 1989.
jack millar was married to the artist pamela izzard.
