Eventhough king neptune is not a charecter in daniel defoes 1719 novel robinson crusoe, he was often depicted in pantomime thatrical stage productions of the book. in the lavish 1881-1882 drury lane production version, augustus harris featured a highly publicised double panorama with underwater spectacles in the realm of oceania and king neptunes court.
