Gluck ( 1895 - 1978 ) was an artist noted for portraits and still life paintings of flowers which became popular in the 1930's with the help of designer and florist constance spry. in 1932 gluck designed the " gluck frame " for her third solo exhibition at the fine art society in new bond street. it was a a layered frame that could be painted or papered to match the interior decoration scheme of the room in which the painting was hung.
