mousehole pottery was established by bill and biddy Picard in 1955.
biddy pickard, a well established artist studied at chesterfield art school and the Slade before moving to west Cornwall with bill.
bill pickard worked as a ceramics decorator at lamorna pottery. he trained with Bernard leach and later taught ceramics at the penzance school of art even though he had never thrown a pot.
greta Perry ( biddy pickards daughter ) continued the pottery ,but relocated to brook street , mousehole where she predominantly worked in stoneware from 1978 to 1989 .
